Mastering a technical marathon in sprints
Jenoptik is a globally operating technology group focused on the photonics market. In search of a new digital full-service partner with Sitecore expertise, Jenoptik turned to TWT. Our task: migrating the multi-site architecture while keeping operations running, including further development of the application. Our goal was to reduce handling complexity and achieve a faster time-to-market.

As a long-standing, qualified Sitecore Gold Partner certified according to ISO 27001, we were able to leverage the necessary processes to successfully deliver a project of this complexity. The starting point of TWT's holistically structured methodology was a two-day workshop. Here, the team familiarised themselves with the complex Sitecore application, the dependencies with connected systems, and the needs of Jenoptik's stakeholders.

For the implementation, we chose an agile method based on SCRUM, working in two-week sprint cycles. Since the go-live, TWT has continued to actively maintain the complex application.

The evaluation of the existing application during the workshop phase, followed by detailed planning, enabled the seamless migration of the intranet, extranet, and all websites in 10 different language versions without any downtime.
To achieve this, we migrated all Sitecore components to the latest version and transferred them to a secure private cloud hosted in a German data centre. In advance, many forms and content areas had to be rebuilt, and numerous modules were either updated or replaced. We took the opportunity to improve the respective components based on specific needs.

New features and the optimised information platform for external customers enhance reach and increase user numbers. The applications impress with innovation, agility, and high performance.
Following the successful migration of the site, our collaboration continues: We are currently jointly advancing topics such as marketing automation, personalisation, analytics, and online marketing initiatives for the website.
