B.E.G. Remote: Smart Control of the ViStation

B.E.G. Brück Electronic GmbH is a mid-sized electrical engineering company that develops innovative solutions in the field of building automation and operates globally. With a focus on flexible, customer-specific product development and application-oriented, specialized consulting, they offer connected products tailored to their customers' needs. The company has established itself as a leading partner in modern building management by combining technological expertise with a deep understanding of user requirements.

The ViStation from B.E.G. is a state-of-the-art building automation solution incorporating KNX technology. It enables user-friendly control of lighting, blinds, and heating through an intuitive interface.

As more users want to control building automation easily from their smartphones, remote access to the automation solution needed to be enabled.

Since license management is often time-consuming and complex, a scalable solution was considered from the outset to accommodate future requirements.

From the initial idea to the final solution, our team worked closely with B.E.G. Brück, developing the application using an agile approach to align requirements with technical implementation optimally. For the launch of B.E.G. Remote, it was essential to implement robust security measures for remote access and ensure seamless integration into existing systems. Additionally, the user interface had to be designed for maximum user-friendliness, and support and maintenance processes needed to be optimized.

Smartphone Control – 24/7 Access to All Systems

Starting from an initial idea that was conceptually and technically refined through close collaboration, TWT and B.E.G. Brück jointly developed B.E.G. Remote. By using agile methods such as Event Storming and iterative Scrum-based development, a flexible, user-centric, and innovative solution was created within just 12 months.

The platform enables real-time visualization and control, providing users with instant updates on their systems. The newly introduced remote control feature ensures seamless access to the visualization and operation of B.E.G. Brück’s building automation systems.

Additionally, a future-oriented licensing model was integrated, allowing B.E.G. to efficiently manage user licenses for specific ViStation functions. The solution includes an SQL server for secure management and storage of license and usage data, a multi-tenant license server for flexible allocation of differentiated access rights, and specific activation codes per function. This provides B.E.G. with a scalable and future-proof licensing system that allows for the individual customization of ViStation features.

With high flexibility and maintainability, the solution ensures that customers always have full visibility and control over their buildings and related information.

With a user-friendly interface and robust security protocols, seamless integration into existing systems was achieved. B.E.G. Remote redefines access to building automation, offering customers maximum flexibility and control.

Throughout the project, we worked with agile methods, ensuring transparency, collaborative partnership, and continuous software optimization. This approach resulted in a sustainable and future-proof solution for our client.
